Family time is the best time

We went to Omaha to help Miss Harper celebrate her 2nd birthday.  She had her party at a pumpkin patch and it was such a fun day.

 Such a proud Nana

So cute - sweet cousins.

Harper really loved being with Carter.

This is where you could find Carter and Brodie all day.  They had a great time on the go carts.

The blob provided lots of entertainment also.

The gangs all here.

My little family at the pumpkin patch.

Home is where the heart is

A couple weeks ago we went home for the weekend. On Saturday mom and I went to an estate sale and then to Brady Commons to buy me a Mizzou Shirt.  I never felt I needed a Mizzou shirt until we moved to ISU county and I felt we needed a little more black and gold up here.

Saturday night Tim and I went to dinner at Flat Branch to celebrate our 18th anniversary.  We also drove by our old house.  It was such a good feeling to know our way around town and not to need a GPS to get around.

Sunday we went to visit Grandma Lou, it was so great to see her.

After we left Grandma's we went to see John's new house. He has been building it for the past year.  He has done such a great job on it.  He did as much of the labor himself as he could so he has a lot of sweat and tears into this house.  He always wanted a hunting lodge type house and I think he has done a great job of making that come true.

Jason and Zelda's visit

Jason and Zelda came up a couple weekends ago for a visit.  Tim and Jason played golf while Zelda and I to the Bloomington Zoo and hung out around the house.  We did meet the boys for lunch on Saturday where we tried out a new BBQ place downtown. Then we sent them out to play another 18 holes of golf.

Carter got out his guitar to play and Harper found his microphone and she would sing while he played.

Harper loved Carter.  She played and played with him all weekend.

Carter's Room

Carter's room has been a work in progress for a few weeks.  We finally got the last of the decorations hung last weekend.  He is pretty proud of his new room.

This was Carter's room before.  I didn't take a picture so stole this one off our house listing site.  In addition to painting Tim also replaced the ceiling fan.

Carter helped me paint his room white, ceilings and all.  Then I began taping for the stripes. I had to put little Xs on the areas I didn't want to paint as my eyes started to play tricks on me.

All painted and the tape removed.

This is a photo of Tim when he was younger playing football.  Carter loves having it in his room.

I stole this idea from the internet but I loved it.  I ordered just a board for a skateboard and had Tim hang hooks on it for Carter's hats.

End of an Era

State Farm use to be one of the largest employers in Columbia MO. Over the past six years those numbers have dwindled to around only 500 employees. In 2019 State Farm leased the second floor of our building to Veterans United a lending company in town. Last week they announced they are going to lease the rest of the building to Veterans United beginning December 1, 2020.  The employees in Columbia have been told they will continue to work form home for the foreseeable future but I always worry about what that really means.  We all knew it was coming but it still came as quite the surprise when it became official.

Where I use to walk in every morning for years and years.
